"All I want to know is where I’m going to die so I’ll never go there."
Recently, Berkshire Hathaway had its first annual meeting without Charlie Munger. Munger was the person responsible, along with Warren Buffett, for the spectacular performance of BH over the years.
Charlie Munger, through his wit and wisdom, has influenced me significantly in recent years.
The above idea of not going where one is going to die, though it seems humorous, contains one of the most effective pieces of life wisdom that has helped me immensely over the years.
Turning a situation upside down can offer a new perspective. Instead of focusing on what should be done, focusing on what one should avoid doing can be a more efficient way of looking at things.

[1] In case of UPSC preparation, never read any bulky books which you can't revise and internalize.
[2] In life, avoid the company of people with dubious character at all costs.
[3] Ingesting chemicals to alter mood or perception (again, said by Charlie Munger).
[4] Exposure to any event where the probability of something unacceptable is non-zero.
[5] Just don't be stupid. It is remarkable how much long-term advantage people like us have gotten by trying to be consistently not stupid, instead of trying to be intelligent.
[6] An "over-optimized" personal life including marriage.
When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth!
